The new farm is characterized by a modern and technologic wine cellar endowed with a very modern wine production department where there are several small tanks made of steel, intended to do the fermentation of white wines and maceration of the grapes for rosé and red wines. .
The refining of red wines takes place in a dedicated area containing several barrels made of French oak. The winery is located adjacent to the ancient farmhouse, that after a careful restauration, it opens today to the hospitality of those who wish to enjoy the charm of an enchanting place as the beautiful scenery of "Matine".
Today as yesterday, the farm Tenuta Viglione, aspires to ambitious goals and for this reason, it is working with the University of Bari for the production of an experimental vineyard. Tenuta Viglione aims to produce wines of great quality and character, that they are witnesses in the world of Puglia flavors.
The territory, (that extends) around "Tenuta Viglione", represents a typical karstic plateau, that it is shaped like a rectangle, it is located in the heartland of Puglia and it is known as “altopiano delle Murge” or simply “Murgia”.
It is a hilly ground at an altitude between 300 and 500 meters, it is a clayey ground whose nature is rocky and full of minerals. The red soil around Tenuta Viglione testify the ancient origin.
The wines of Tenuta Viglione come from these lands, the vineyards are divided among rocks shattered to become an ideal habitat and an essential nutrition for the vines.
The climate is always moderate in this area and it is the final and essential component. Here the temperatures are optimal for the cultivation of the vine, thanks to an appropriate mix of sun and wind that come mainly from the north and south of Italy . The farm Tenuta Viglione founds its origins in the ancient rural traditions and in the ancient traditions of viticulture of Zullo's family that moved by a desire to confirm the enormous potential of viticulture in the area between the towns of Gioia del Colle (Ba) and Santeramo in Colle (Ba ), for decades produce quality wines in these territories.
