Cult Winery – extremely limited availability
Owned by Al and Boots Brounstein and established in 1968, Diamond Creek was California's first estate vineyard to produce only Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards are on three adjoining sites, each differing in exposure and soil, and the wines are bottled under the vineyard names: Volcanic Hill (8 acres), Red Rock Terrace (7 acres) and Gravelly Meadow (5 acres). The winemaker is Phil Steinschreiber.
Taste the Differences imparted to the wines by the soils of California's most unique Cabernet vineyards. Each Vineyard has: The same grape varietals, the same farming practices, the same winemaking techniques.
Gravelly Meadow Earthy, cedary, jammy, ripe blackberry, spicy, expansive finish.
Red Rock Terrace Velvety tannins, rich and well balanced, medium dark ruby color, cherry and black currant flavors.
Volcanic Hill Full-bodied, intense, ripe berry fruit, cassis, smoky richness, finished with a good length and firm tannins. Since the 1972 vintage, Diamond Creek has been conducting hundreds of tastings.
Truly, Diamond Creek is a one-of-a-kind vineyard in California.
